Fowler Jacket Sewing Pattern by Closet Core Patterns is a gender-neutral outerwear pattern with two distinct jacket styles in one design. Choose between View A, a workwear-inspired barn coat, or View B, a cosy quilted jacket. With its oversized boxy silhouette, dropped shoulders, two-piece sleeve and bandless collar, Fowler is designed for comfortable layering and everyday wear.

View A features double-layer patch pockets, a chest pocket, sleeve hem facing, visible topstitching and a classic pressed hem. View B creates a quilted jacket with softly rounded patch pockets and double-fold bias tape finishing around the edges and hems. Both views can be finished with buttons or snaps, giving sewists flexibility in both style and function.

Suitable For

  • View A: mid to heavyweight non-stretch woven fabrics such as canvas, twill, denim, corduroy or structured linen
  • View B: pre-quilted fabrics, quilted cotton, cotton poplin, chambray, broadcloth or linen with batting

This jacket sewing pattern is a thoughtful choice for sewists wanting a practical layering piece with a clean, modern workwear feel. Drapey fabrics are not recommended, as Fowler is designed to hold a roomy, structured outerwear shape.
